Last Friday, our Year 9 students travelled to Mahurangi West for the day. The outing was part of a migration and heritage studies programme of learning taught at Glenfield College. Students learnt about how the Maori used the land at Mahurangi before the arrival of the Europeans, how the land changed when the Europeans arrived and also discovered evidence of two cultures coming together through an exploration of the on-site Urupa.
