NZ Teams Win the World Robotics Championships…again!
Glenfield’s GCEC Robotics Team is bringing back 2 awards from the World Robotics Championships in California.
702 teams out of 7300 were selected for the competition and 28 countries were represented. New Zealand had 11 teams at the worlds and made up 50 % (3 out of 6 ) of the teams in the finals, where NZ took away the top prize.
Glenfield’s GCEC 2918A made it to the quarter finals of the technology division with 7 wins and 3 losses. There were 84 teams in the division.
As a school we also were awarded the Community Award for the Technology Division and also the International Educate Award. For the latter award, it is the first time it has been awarded outside the USA.
Our students were great representatives of the school and when going for their interviews with competition judges preformed above their weight. Judges in fact came back 3 times to interview showing we were strong contenders for the very top awards.
