We usually have two groups who make a huge commitment each year to prepare for the annual ASB Secondary Schools Maori and Pasifika Festival. We always have a Kapahaka Group, and a Pasifika Group usually joins them. Our Tongan Group has performed in the past two years.
We hold an International Week each year in which we celebrate the ethnic diversity of students within our school. The highlight of this week is the performances of the many groups from our school who share their cultures in a school and evening show. In addition to our Kapahaka and Tongan Groups, we have seen performances from Filipino Groups, a Samoan Group, a Korean Group, a Thai Dance, a Kiribati Dance, a Fijian Dance, a South African performance and a Burundi Drum Group. Students are encouraged to be proud of their culture while being part of New Zealand.
